Moy Country Fair Friday 08 August 2025 Moy Country Fair
Public Safety Announcement – Saturday 9 August
After ongoing monitoring and detailed safety assessment, we have taken the very difficult decision to cancel Saturday’s Moy Country Fair (9 August 2025) due to the worsening weather forecast.Stronger gusts are expected tomorrow, and these exceed the safety tolerances of our marquee structures and our wider risk assessments. The safety of our visitors, exhibitors, volunteers, and crew must come first.
In our 45-year history, the Fair has only ever been cancelled in advance twice - during the Foot and Mouth outbreak, and the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first time we’ve had to close mid-event, and it’s not a decision we’ve taken lightly.
All pre-booked tickets for Saturday will be refunded automatically (minus the booking fee) within 5-10 working days.
For exhibitors and other stakeholders, the organising committee will meet in the coming weeks to consider the further implications of this public safety decision. We will share further updates as soon as possible.
Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Fair — your patience, good humour and understanding in the face of difficult weather has meant a great deal to us. Stay safe, and we hope to welcome you back in 2026.
Moy Country Fair offers a wide variety of entertainments for all the family. The emphasis is on field sports activities with competitions in fly casting, gun dog handling and clay pigeon shooting. See our What's on page to find out more. The Fair is a non-profit making event and surplus funds are distributed to charities and deserving causes. In 2025, we are proudly supporting Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) who will act as the event's nominated charity. CHAS provides unwavering care to children with life-shortening conditions and their families across Scotland.
